New Year’s Resolutions

Most everyone I know sets off the New Year with a resolution to change something, whether it be lose weight, drink less, quit smoking or any other endless possibility. Do you think it is important to have a few resolutions for your businesses marketing plan? Since we’re a small business I thought I’d check out some resolutions that might help us improve our marketing campaign.

Here are the Top 5 Small Business Marketing Resolutions from Flowtown, by Ethan Bloch.

  1. Give Your Website a Makeover! – We just gave our website a makeover in 2011 and thanks to Spinweb we think it looks pretty great!
  2. Try New Things – This year we are offering an amazing deal every month of the year. For January we are offering Free Parking (downtown, no less) with a 6 month agreement!
  3. Meet New People – We’re currently researching different organizations that we can join. If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them.
  4. Make Yourself Mobile – Thanks again to Spinweb for our new website that is smart phone ready.
  5. Lose Pay-Per-Click Weight – We find that using Google Adwords is a big reason we have so much success, but until recently we didn’t know how much better we could have it. After a discussion with Michael Reynolds, CEO of Spinweb, we realized that we could utilize Adwords in a more efficient way. We now have multiple ads that are zeroed in on the different services we offer. Taylor Irwin, our new administrative assistant, has also played an integral part of transitioning us to a new, successful ad campaign.

We’re on our way to starting 2012 with a new marketing plan in place and we hope that it proves to be a success. What steps are you taking to improve your marketing plan? Do you have any resolutions to add to this list that would be beneficial? We’d love to hear your comments and suggestions.
